Do you want to sing Verdi’s “Requiem”, great Cathedral classics, a salute to Rodgers and Hammerstein along with a spectacular Christmas concert? The Sacramento Choral Society and Music Director Donald Kendrick are currently holding membership auditions for TENORS and SOPRANOS only for their 2010-2011 Concert Season.

Performances for the SCSO's 15th Anniversary concert season will take place at the UC Davis Mondavi Center as well as a new Stained Glass Sacramento performance at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament
(11th & K).

The chorus rehearses in the Music Department at Sacramento State University (CAMPUS MAP - pdf file) September through May on Monday evenings from 7 – 9:30 PM. The SCSO will present four performances at the UC Davis Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts and one Stained Glass Sacramento performance at the recently renovated Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament (11th & K).

In Fall 2010, the Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra will celebrate its 15th Season of offering large choral/orchestral performances at reasonable prices for families in the Sacramento region. The SCSO has won the “Arts Excellence Award”, the “Outstanding Non Profit of the Year” award and the “Arts Executive of the Year” award for their work in the Capital Region. As well as presenting their own concert subscription series, the SCSO has performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra, Sarah Brightman’s World Tour, the Kenny Rogers Christmas Show and on national and international concert stages in Carnegie Hall, Europe and China.

In June 2010 the SCSO won third place in the American Prize national competition.
