About the Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra (SCSO)

The mission of the SCSO is to provide world-class choral orchestral music for the people of the Greater Sacramento Region.

The SCSO, a California educational 501 c (3) non-profit organization established in 1996, is an auditioned, volunteer chorus with its own professional orchestra, conducted by Donald Kendrick. (Federal Tax ID: 94-3259903) SCSO Guidestar Profile

The SCSO is unique nationally in that it is the only Community Chorus among the 12,000 Community Choruses in the U.S. to have a collective bargaining agreement with its own professional symphony orchestra.

The large SCSO Team of 140+ dedicated singers and 55 professional orchestra players come from 7 different counties. During the past 23years, SCSO Members have volunteered more than 970,000 hours to enhance the cultural life of our community.
